Full Dilution Tunnel System |

This general system is for measurement of PM (particulate) emitted from a diesel engine. Total volume of diesel engine emission gas is mixed with and fully diluted with fresh air conditioned under meteoric control by a CFV-CVS device and then sampled from a PM sampling probe installed at the tunnel end into a membrane PM filter by a PM sampler. The weight of PM is then measured after testing.

| |
The Micro-Dilution Tunnel is a PM measuring system with the Dilution Tunnel advanced to smaller size. Measurement is taken of the PM volume sampled on a PM filter with the high speed proportional control valve (0.3 sec) controlled according to output of instantaneous flow of fuel supplied to engineers and instantaneous air flow and the separated emission gas and the fresh air proportionally mixed. |
